About the Role
Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Diagnose mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other psychiatric disorders, based on assessments.
Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients based on their needs and goals.
Monitor progress and update treatment plans as needed to ensure the best therapeutic outcomes.
Provide Therapy:
Offer individual, family, or group therapy to help clients cope with emotional challenges and mental health issues.
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy) tailored to the client's needs.
Crisis Intervention:
Respond to mental health crises by providing immediate support and intervention.
Help clients develop safety plans and connect them with additional resources as necessary.
Case Management and Coordination:
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, physicians, addiction specialists) to ensure a comprehensive treatment approach.
Make referrals to other professionals or community resources for additional support, such as housing, healthcare, or substance use treatment.
Education and Advocacy:
Educate clients about mental health issues, coping strategies, and wellness techniques.
Advocate for clients’ needs within various systems (e.g., healthcare, legal, social services).
Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on managing mental health conditions and improving quality of life.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in accordance with HIPAA and other legal standards.
Document any incidents or changes in the client's mental health and adjust treatment accordingly.
Supervision and Training:
For those in supervisory roles, provide oversight, mentorship, and support to social work interns or less experienced clinicians.
Stay current with social work best practices through ongoing professional development.
Requirements
Education:
A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program is required.
Licensing and Certification:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) designation is required.
Experience:
2-3 years of supervised clinical experience is required.
Experience in providing therapy or counseling to individuals, families, or groups is preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in individual therapy and when working with a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of various therapeutic methods and mental health disorders.
Strong assessment and diagnostic skills.
Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Crisis management and intervention skills.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards related to social work and therapy
